PARENT SUPPORT GROUP – Rohnert Park

Who- Parents

What- A network of support with other parents, facilitated by a professional.   This group provides parents with a setting in which they can lend and receive peer  guidance and support in addition to learning new positive parenting skills.

 PARENT PROJECT- Windsor

Who– Parents of strong-willed teens.

What– A parent class brought to you through a collaboration between SOS’s Windsor Youth and Family Services and the Windsor Police.  The class is focused on setting effective limits and redirecting strong-willed teens, with love.  The partnership of the police and our therapists give parents insight into what issues Police see amongst teens in your town, and the development and social/emotional world of teens.  This program is highly effective and informative!

TEEN SUPPORT GROUPS

Who– High School Students, ages 14-18.

What- Explore issues faced as a teen, develop coping skills, build resiliency, and get support from peers.  Curriculum is adapted to the unique make-up of the group, and generally provides a balance of process, with art and other expressive activities.  Stress management, relaxation, communication, anger management, social skills, and self-esteem building.

When/Where- Available for students of our 4 partner High Schools.  Rancho-Cotate, Windsor High, Healdsburg High, Cloverdale High.  Soon available at Amarosa Academy.

SUPPORT GROUP FOR SINGLE MOTHERS-  Santa Rosa – Not Currently Open (5/2016)

Who- Single mothers with children under 18.

What- A network of support with other single mothers, facilitated by a professional.   Learn skills to enhance your communication, assertiveness, parenting through developmental stages, process past relationships, and integrate current or future relationships with your family.

When/Where– Santa Rosa, Thursdays 5:30-7:00.  Child Care will be provided if needed.
